Irish immigrant W.T. McClelland and his wife Winifred founded Shamrock Dairy in 1922 in Tucson, Arizona with only a few cows, a truck, and a dream. The couple did all the milking, bottling and deliveries themselves, instilling their family values into the company and maintaining a close-knit culture as it grew.
100 years later, the McClelland family’s hard work and perseverance, combined with the dedication of countless Shamrock associates, has transformed the still family-owned company into what it is today – a nationally ranked, privately-held Forbes 500 Company with over 5,000 associates across the U.S.
Shamrock’s family of brands includes Shamrock Farms, a nationally recognized milk brand and Arizona’s hometown dairy, as well as Shamrock Foods, serving restaurant, hospitality, and institutional foodservice customers throughout the West.
Shamrock also boasts our own line of restaurant supply stores, Shamrock Foodservice Warehouse, a custom-cutting premium meat company, Gold Canyon Meat CO., freshly harvested global seafood with Pier 22 Seafood CO., high-quality fruits and vegetables from Markon, small-batch craft roasted coffees from Four Leaf Roasters, and multipurpose cooking oils from Jensen Foods.
